Platform for Comprehensive Rehabilitation of the Alcazaba de Badajoz, once the first few weeks that have passed since the beginning of the reclamation works of the main monument Badajoz, want to make public its assessment of these early works:
1 .- First, try and appreciate the interest shown to this platform by the Ministry of Development, and in particular the invitation to visit the works yesterday and the meeting of the Monitoring Committee in order to assess allegations made by the Platform.
2 .- The beginning of the work and discoveries come to agree with the approach of this platform, as demonstrated both the historical value of the car door step, with the remains Almohad, and the inappropriateness of an aggressive drainage system such as that posed by the project, having appeared drains original full agreement with the proposal made in their submissions by the Platform.
3 .- We welcome, therefore, already taken into consideration two of the allegations made, and consequently the project has decided to remove both the demolition of the car door step as raised drains through the wall .

6 .- We ask that the work is appropriate follow-up by the Archaeological Area Office Integrated Rehabilitation Badajoz, as guarantor of the adequacy of public involvement in the Monument.
7 .- We demand that the next tender operated by the City Council for the drafting of the second phase will involve the complete rehabilitation of the Citadel, it is envisaged:
- The archaeological study of the entire venue, both internally and externally, with the enhancement of all traces that appear.
- expressly prohibiting the possibility of lifting any construction of new plant, particularly in the vicinity of the Church of the Consolation and the Chapel of the Rosary.
- Recovery of sentry walk around the parapet of the wall, without interruption.
- The landscaping and enhancement of the slopes of the Citadel and its connection to the Parc de la Legion .
