La Plataforma por la Rehabilitación Integral de la Alcazaba de Badajoz pide la reunión urgente de la Comisión de Seguimiento de las obras de la Alcazaba Badajoz. The Platform does not understand how such an important project for the city of Badajoz is so abandoned by the authorities involved in its drafting: Ministry of Housing, Government of Extremadura and City Hall. Platform A is unable to understand that these three administrations, which are assumed a responsibility to its citizens, are totally uninformed as to the general public and to members of the particular platform. Also, it is unthinkable that a project of this size and complexity involved administrations do not have more coordination than a few phone calls and did not meet regularly to try to agree on actions to be performed. It is recalled that the last meeting dates back more than four months and taking into account that it is now when you are laying the foundations of what will be the rehabilitation of the Alcazaba de Badajoz seems like an act of negligence and irresponsibility towards the Badajoz Heritage Not having time or desire to meet. Such actions make it abundantly clear to the lack of value that has some administrations have been given World Heritage always most important city in Extremadura.
The Platform wants to remember that a year ago that citizens of more than seventeen groups, united by a good common: the Alcazaba de Badajoz, began the fight to try to rehabilitate the main monument of our city and out of the drawer of oblivion, the rehabilitation project of the same that so jealously guarded and forgot administrations. The Platform does not understand how past and a year, and after several broken promises by our politicians, there has been not even the scaffolding, so it requires the political forces of different signs to stop and partisan electoral calculations and draw once and finally the remaining tasks for years.
The Platform also a reminder that there are still many issues on which he disagrees with the government so once again reiterates the need to sit down and talk and agree on a technical committee, as agreed at the March meeting and that nothing has been heard. Therefore, we feel cheated again with respect to agreements with the various authorities took the platform and that the public needs to know to which time and again is bullfighting.
Finally, we express our concern that to continue at this pace of work by the project authorities is returned to the drawer of forgotten or permanently lost as a result of the crisis, thus losing the jobs that such rehabilitation would bring much-needed and are now of such high unemployment rate in Extremadura.
